CNN and others are now reporting that Democratic Senator and Presidential Candidate Kamala Harris is planning to drop out of the 2020 race for the Democratic nomination. Sources from CNN just now reporting that Harris was having trouble finding “a lane to win the nomination”, with Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren “having staked out more solid ground to Harris’ left”, and Harris being “...unsuccessful in pulling away more black voters from Joe Biden that she hoped she could.”
Kamala Harris, in my opinion, is a bright, shining Democratic star. That she is no longer a candidate for President is deeply disappointing to me, but make no mistake — Harris is a talented and smart Senator that should be a major voice in Democratic politics for years to come. In a Democratic field that was/is in bad need of trimming down IMHO, this isn’t who I wanted to see leave so soon.
